Hello, Windows 10 is frequently restarting your app to its own version for music and video files. Before this happened, the default was VLC Media Player.

It reverts back to the default settings. If it continues looping to Windows Media Player or Groove Music, removing those two applications should resolve the issue.

Included by default on Windows, though it may not be ideal—I’d like a better option to ensure everything functions properly. Some programs even need QuickTime, which can pose security risks on Windows.

The issue arises because VLC relies on old file association codes that Windows has stopped supporting. Using another app such as iTunes may resolve the problem. If needed, you can set up your file associations directly in Windows for VLC.
