I have ASUS ROG STRIX Z390-I GAMING - Intel Z390 and G.SKILL 16GB KIT DDR4 3200MHz CL16 Trident Z RGB and i checked QVL and i found this ram in the list. Besides shouldn't all DDR4 ram be same ? So i read manual and you should be holding them with both hands on each end and put them straight in and than secure slot with lever on the right. On the left lever is static and can't be flipped. I even measured slots, so i am 100% sure i am putting them in right direction as one side is shorter... Cooler almost block my ram slot, but it think there is tiny space still. First i thought cooler blocking it, but i don't think so. I tried right slot, which is long distance from cooler and not blocked on 100% and it still won't go in. This is my first DDR4 ram. I never had issue with ddr3, just push and secure it with levers on both sides at the same time. But this won't go even in. If i put it straight in, like it is in manual, it won't even go in. And if i put it with one side first, than second will be lifted like wtf ? Why i have always most ridiculous problems, last mobo socket level was faulty and you couldn't even move it... So what have i learned: now every mobo have different way to put in ram, which sucks and is impractical and counter intuitive. That's apparently how you put ram on asus mobos and also start putting it first at angle like 30 degrees. At the side where is lever, which can be switched. Until you hear click (you know like there are squares on both side of ram with O inside, these should click first not ram pressed to the slot !!!), than put it on other side until your hear click with low force, it should slide like that in easily and than press one side with thumb and than other with thumb doesn't matter which first. link to video . Also asus manual is completely incorrect... Which is good way how to destroy ram, or be annoyed, they don't even know how to install ram to their own motherboard LMAO...
I received the image and managed to insert it. This indicates the manual is entirely inaccurate. It’s challenging; it needs to be positioned precisely in that unusual angle, otherwise it won’t fit. Even a slight misalignment prevents insertion. When I try to push it from another direction, it doesn’t click properly and I hesitate to apply more pressure because the motherboard is bending. Even with minimal force, releasing it lets me remove it, but now it’s stuck on the left side. From above, the left lever has obstacles blocking its movement, so it can only be inserted from below. That’s why it works when I push from the left. Currently, the right side doesn’t fit because the RAM overreaches the slot. This is confusing. By the way, what do you mean by a click? DDR3 requires significant force and typically clicks when forced into the slot. With this RAM, is that really necessary? When I align the left corner of the RAM with the socket’s left corner, it clicks. But I must confirm—I don’t want to damage the RAM, since it isn’t being pushed fully. I’m wondering if there’s an issue here. Now I tried inserting from the right and it worked perfectly, whereas the opposite direction failed. I’m unsure what’s happening. Could you clarify whether the RAM needs to be pressed firmly everywhere, not just at the lever position? Hard to explain without more details. Because I don’t want to apply force but avoid starting the computer if installation isn’t correct. I found a video suggesting firm pressure is needed, which makes me doubt the current method. The motherboard feels springy, and the RAM has an odd shape. It seems it’s already fully seated on the long side, so that’s probably the issue. Literally, it doesn’t fit. I might need to take the PC to a repair shop. This situation is really frustrating. I haven’t experienced any problems with DDR3 before, yet here it’s a nightmare. I’m worried about damaging it further.

As I mentioned it doesn't function properly. Ram is simply too long for the slot. Initially it worked, but on the second attempt I placed the ram from the right side under the angle and it fit perfectly on the left in just five seconds. I tried doing it from the left as shown in the picture, but it didn't work then either. The issue seems to be with perspective, but I'm unsure who would install the ram from the side where the cooler is, since it's out of reach. I plan to order service—it's affordable and I don't want to risk further damage. I've applied a fair amount of force and installed the ram multiple times, but it still doesn't click and slide completely into the socket. I can't secure it with the lever anymore.
