I own a custom-built PC that has functioned well for two years. Recently, after turning it off, it stopped working properly. I attempted several fixes: disconnecting the NVIDIA graphics card at boot, using a different operating system drive, and switching power supplies. Despite these efforts, the computer occasionally powers on but becomes extremely slow—taking 5 to 10 minutes to open Windows Explorer, then shutting down after ten minutes and not booting again until it has been off for about fifteen minutes. I’ve consulted a repair shop, but they couldn’t resolve the issue.

Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Bryce

If any overclocking action reverts everything to the original settings...test.
If assistance isn't available, place a copy of memtest86 on the flash drive.
Power on the drive and ensure it operates without any errors.

Can you be sure there was no overclocking before the issues started?

I wouldn't make any assumptions.
Reset the settings to the standard values and then focus on making the device operate correctly.

Typically, a random shutdown in a PC points to a power supply issue. Seeing this happen even while performing simple tasks like memtest really highlights the problem.

After further investigation, I discovered the issue. The computer only boots reliably with three RAM sticks. The fourth one is now leading to frequent changes in digital codes without any post. What’s unusual is that before it would occasionally power on and shut down on its own or sometimes boot with four sticks of RAM, but now it doesn’t work at all. It doesn’t appear to be related to the power supply, CPU, or motherboard. It still displays a blue screen of death if left running for an hour, but it no longer stops when using three sticks of RAM. I’m puzzled as the problems weren’t consistent until just yesterday.

I figured it out! The power cable to the cooling unit was bent and broken.

Extremely odd actions during a hot period, but that explains it perfectly—I'm happy you identified the cause.
