For removing applications I’d choose flatpak which would be straightforward to handle except for those needing more privileges such as Steam to access the GPU, etc. When it comes to storage there are various options like NFS for direct use by individuals or SAMBA for sharing among accounts created. There are many file managers available, but in KDE Dolphin I can type commands like windows nfs:\\IPADDRESS to connect, though features may differ from other browsers. You’ll need packages such as nfs-utils or nfs-common for it to function properly. For remote access if you want quick gaming, Moonlight or similar tools are recommended (not necessary for me). I also use VNC for managing the system remotely. Thank you for reaching out—I’m glad to share some insights on Linux. Welcome to the Linux world!

It's worth mentioning that any operating system can be customized for gaming; some are more forward-thinking with minor adjustments, launchers, or new releases. You can enjoy games on Kali Linux if you prefer (though it’s not ideal for daily use because it runs best on USB or virtual machines). That said, other distributions aren’t as flexible. A Debian-based distro usually works better than the one you’re using. Honestly, a stable distribution often matters more than the name itself, but you rarely fail with any random distro—except maybe Hannah Montana Linux or Red Start OS.

Here’s a common myth about Arch Linux: it doesn’t crash frequently; most issues stem from user mistakes. You don’t always need to update Arch, but trying a distro rooted in Arch is a good idea if you have advanced hardware and outdated drivers. Chrooting can often resolve problems.

Bleeding-edge options are fine, but they’re not always reliable. Check forums or news sites for updates before installing new software. Also, make sure your OpenSSH package is up to date—current version is 9.8/9.8p1 (as of July 2024).

If you need XDRP, install it with the usual steps, then enable and start it. For firewall settings, run `firewall-cmd --permanent --add-port=3389/tcp` and reload.

If you’re using SELinux, check `sestatus`—it should show enabled or disabled. To adjust permissions, use `chcon` on the relevant binaries. After restarting XDRP, connect from any device on port 3389.

You can try Linux Mint Edge for a pre-configured experience, or EndeavourOS if you like Arch-based setups. If you’re a fan of Linux Mint, the Edge version gives you the best of both worlds.

For NAS or multiple drives, consider LVM for better management—though it’s more complex.

Remember, when troubleshooting, consult manpages and community forums; they’re your most reliable guides.
