Hi guys, I own a Lenovo G40-70 laptop that is almost a year old. The CPU is an Intel® core™ i3-4030u at 1.90GHz from GenuineIntel. Recently, after booting Ubuntu four days ago due to an OS error, I switched back to Windows 10. After two days on Windows 10, my CPU started overheating and the fan stopped working. I tried speedfan and msiafterburner to try and cool it down, but none of the fan controls worked. I’m facing a lot of trouble. Could anyone help? Also, I remember before installing Ubuntu, my fan was running at over speed, but after a day or so, it automatically stopped.

If your PC isn't displaying the fan at all, it's probably dead. Because your laptop is only a year old, you might be able to get it repaired under warranty.
