The CPU temperature sensor is faulty.
Hi there, I’m having some issues I think. I can’t see my temperatures in any software except Speccy. I’m not sure if the readings are accurate or if the sensor is faulty. I’ve tried custom water cooling and tested with two other coolers, but the temps stay the same. I wanted to check temperatures during rendering, which is fine since it’s satisfying. My screen goes black after 10–20 minutes of rendering—could be overheating? There’s an error code 8 on the motherboard LED when that happens, and the PC stays on but does nothing. I still have a warranty on the CPU. Could you help? More details would be great. Specs: CPU AMD Ryzen 7 1800X, GPU NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080, MSE BIOS, RAM 16GB DDR4 3000MHz, PSU 1000W, cooler master, computer idle in photo. When rendering it spikes to the 90s or higher.
Sure, I'll go ahead and test it. Feel free to share more details later.
I usually rely on Ryzen master for temperature tracking. Have you updated your BIOS yet?
as i can see no i have 1 year old bios and the latest is 2 weeks ago
only hdd mmo and gpu details are available, no cpu temperatures reported
The Ryzen 1800X may show a temperature that is 20°C above its actual reading (source: techreport.com). Various monitoring solutions detect this issue, while others do not. Using Speccy for tracking isn't recommended because it wasn't designed for that purpose.
