Hi. I noticed my Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 running at 2.83Ghz after overclocking to 2.9Ghz in BIOS, but it still shows the original speed. It seems the changes didn't take effect. What should I try next?

Gigabyte G31M-ES2L features Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 at 2.83 Ghz and 4GB RAM. I adjusted the BIOS settings under CPU frequency, added about six points for testing, but the change didn't take effect.
