Hello, I’m experiencing a problem with my new motherboard. The CPU power readings are no longer accurate—usually showing 4.2W in idle and 4.5W during benchmarks. The BIOS seems up-to-date and my drivers are working fine. Could it be related to a BIOS setting that needs activation? If yes, where should I enable it? I’m not very familiar with ASUS BIOS settings. Thanks!

The tools currently in use for power monitoring are HWiNFO and Ryzen Master. These programs effectively track the majority of sensors on Ryzen processors.

The tools you mentioned are providing consistent data—what might be happening is a system-wide issue. Could there be a problem with the hardware or software environment?

I can't include screenshots directly, but I can describe what they might show or help you interpret them if you share the images. Let me know how you'd like to proceed!

Sure thing! Here’s a revised version of your sentence:
I’ll provide the screenshot while performing benchmarks.

It seems the EDC value isn't reflecting the real-time current draw. The CPU's current should match what it's actually using, but it's stuck at 95A. Power depends on both voltage and current, so any error in either leads to incorrect readings. Try updating the BIOS or reinstalling Windows—sometimes these changes fix sensor issues. If neither helps, the motherboard might have a defective current sensor. This could also cause odd voltage regulation problems, since the board needs a proper current sensor to work with LLC correctly. It's possible ASUS is intentionally restricting the current readout on certain boards.

Understand your options for updating your BIOS. You can modify your system settings through the manufacturer’s website or using built-in tools. Choose a version compatible with your current hardware and the latest Windows updates. It’s important to verify compatibility before making changes.

Theoretically they might, but that doesn't guarantee it. I'd perform a benchmark test (Cinebench R23 is likely the standard) and see how your scores stack up against others using an R5 5600G. If the difference stays within about 500 points, performance shouldn't be impacted and you can use the system normally. ASUS manuals usually include steps for updating the BIOS—since it's been a while since I updated my board, I'm not sure the exact process. Typically, you'd receive a flash drive, format it as FAT32, extract the BIOS file, load it onto the drive, restart to BIOS, navigate to the BIOS menu (usually under tools), and follow the prompts to install the new version. This should be the most accurate method from the manual.
