Hi,
I've been trying to overclock my i7 9700k but stopped when temperatures got too high. I left it for a while and reset the BIOS settings. But the temps are still elevated, fluctuating between 4634MHz and 3000MHz according to Core Temp, and also in Task Manager. The temperatures are now jumping between 30-40°C, which is much higher than before. They used to stay steady around 28-32°C. I just want to reset the CPU back to factory settings and remove the overclock. Someone suggested turning off multi-core enhancement, but I can't find that option on my MSI MPG z390 Gaming Edge AC motherboard. Can you help me figure this out?

When turbo boost is activated, its frequency changes between your standard clock and boost clock, often stabilizing around a middle point during idle.

Removing the power cable and taking out the button cell battery from the motherboard, while pressing and holding the power button for 45 seconds, will reset all BIOS configurations.

Do not leave the battery on during the power button press. After that, return it and restore power.
