I received a fresh setup, the Lian li Lancool II mesh build. I transferred all my components from my previous case into this one. Now the system won’t power up unless I reset the CMOS. Even after doing so, the debug CPU indicator only lights once before everything powers down. Since then, I’ve tried booting with and without the GPU, with and without the SSD, using different cables, in various positions—inside and outside the case, with and without the new PSU, one RAM stick only, in different slots. I’ve reinserted the CPU and verified there are no bent pins. I’ve rebuilt the PC five times just to check for any faulty parts or damaged wires. I’m certain I’ve tested many things, but I feel like something’s still wrong. My main idea is that the BIOS might be corrupted, though my Intel motherboard lacks a flash function and doesn’t update. Another thought is that the board could have been damaged and permanently failed. Parts list: Intel 9900K, ASUS Tough Gaming 3070 MSI Z390 Pro Carbon AC Corsair RMX 850, Corsair Dominator Platinum 64GB, 3200mhz, H100i pro AIO, Corsair LL120s fan hub, Samsung 870evo pro 1TB (x3).

Inspect the interior of the new chassis. Was any additional motherboard spacing omitted that should remain?

I verified everything carefully and found only nine spacers installed. I also tested it outside the case without improved outcomes.

Occasionally a brief occurs in the incorrect location, like a CPU or RAM expecting 1.25V but receiving 12V instead. It's a tough situation. Do you have any replacement components available for testing? Such as different RAM, motherboards, power supplies, or GPUs?

CPUs tend to handle stress well, but the issue likely lies with the motherboard. Have you attempted an open testbed using a boxed motherboard? Setup includes: no GPU, one stick of RAM, 20+4 pin board with an 8-pin EPS. Everything else connected to the PSU is unplugged. Is the behavior consistent or does it change when you remove the CPU? Only check if the cable attached to the 20+4 port is still present. If it remains the same, the board might be dead—unless you have a faulty fan. Would you still be covered under warranty?

I attempted that too and the outcomes were identical. I pressed the power button, the CPU light flashed, the fans started spinning, the RGB lights activated, and then the device powered down. It appears to be shutting itself off for safety reasons.

It seems like the motherboard might have been affected during the switch between cases. At this stage, you’d likely check all your current devices but with a new motherboard. If everything functions properly, the issue is resolved.

I performed an action. The PSU paper clip test was used. Under load and without load, the computer functions properly. Once I connect the 24 pin to the MOBO, it ceases to operate.
