your Ryzen 7 7800x3d often shuts down unexpectedly when you lower the voltage, even at -0.050V, while stress tests work normally. the motherboard seems fine otherwise—temperatures stay between 55-60°C when idle and spike to 90°C during heavy use like Minecraft. cinebench starts thermal throttling. the GPU is a 4070 with 12GB DDR5 RAM at 5200MHz (2x8GB). you mentioned it might not have proper thermal paste, though it’s prebuilt.

Seems like the Curve Optimizer is in play. This pattern is quite typical. Elevated temperatures usually lead to less consistent undervolting. If your temps are extremely high and cooling isn't doing much, that likely accounts for it. Which cooler model are you using? AMD released several options, and the Wraith Prism appears to be the top choice for keeping this chip at a stable temperature.

You need to verify the cooling system by checking temperature readings, listening for unusual sounds, and ensuring proper airflow.

It's probably not the prism, maybe stealth or spire.

The Stealth model seems insufficient for any AM5 CPU, but the Spire might be adequate at the very least. The Prism or Max would work well for the 7800X3D. The main distinction lies in the size—around 5.5cm or about 2 inches is Stealth, whereas a height nearer 7cm indicates the Spire.

Consider verifying if thermal paste is needed.

It would be much worse without thermal paste in place. Likely the issue is simply the cooler not performing well.
