The CPU core voltage override feature isn't working for me. Assistance needed.
I've started overclocking my i5 6600k and followed the reviews beforehand. However, when trying to change the CPU Core Voltage Override, it doesn't allow any adjustments. It's stuck at 1.300, and I'm attempting to raise it to around 1.345 or 1.350, but once I turn off the adjustment, it immediately returns to 1.300. Since I can't change it manually, I'm using auto overclocking, which I know isn't ideal. Anyone have an idea why I can't adjust the voltage? Right now, my CPU is running at 4.8ghz with auto voltage, and gaming performance is stable so far. I'm concerned the voltage might be too low or something is wrong. Any advice would be really appreciated.
Your motherboard is an Asus z170. You can enter the UEFI, switch the AI overclock tuner to manual, and sync all cores from core ratio. Adjust your desired multiplier, then go to CPU core voltage settings, set it to manual, and try setting 1.3V in CPU voltage override. Even though I’ve done this, when I check CPU voltage it still shows 1.3V and it keeps resetting. Is the voltage currently at 4.8GHz or is it fine? I haven’t had any problems yet, but I’m new to this stuff. Just need to run a stress test for at least an hour to see temperatures and voltages—make sure they stay under 1.4V and don’t exceed 80°C.
I don't understand the exact motherboard model, but it seems like you might have chosen auto mode instead of manual. Another possibility is that the input value wasn't within the acceptable range. What components are installed on your system?

You have an Asus z170.
You can enter the UEFI, adjust the AI overclock tuner to manual mode, sync all cores (starting from core ratio), set your desired multiplier, and then scroll down to change the CPU core voltage setting. Make it manual and under CPU voltage override, you should be able to set 1.3V.

I’ve tried that too, but when I go to CPU voltage it still shows 1.3V and it keeps resetting. It’s not at 4.8GHz yet, is it? I’m new to this stuff but haven’t had any problems.

I’ve tried that already, but when I go to CPU voltage it still shows 1.3V and it keeps resetting. Is the voltage correct now? It’s around 4.8GHz, but is that okay? I haven’t had any problems so far, though I’m new to this.
Honestly, you should run at least a 1-hour AIDA64 Stress Test or Real Bench Stress test to check temperatures and voltages (keep under 1.4V Vcore and 80°C). Are you stable? If everything passes, you’re good. Otherwise, I’d suggest updating the BIOS to the latest version.
