I constructed a new setup around eight months ago, everything functioning properly until recently. Last night, while shutting down the PC, it asked me to run Windows Update, so I chose the update option and then shut it down. Upon returning home today, the machine was still active, and both CPU and RAM EZ Debug indicators were illuminated.

I attempted various fixes, including:
- Removing the CMOS battery
- Repositioning the RAM modules
- Inspecting all connections
- Checking the AIO cooling system

I haven’t re-seated the CPU yet because I don’t have any thermal paste installed. I’m puzzled about what might be happening; everything seemed normal. I observed that the system would crash and the RAM debug would trigger if the settings exceeded certain thresholds, such as higher than 5600MHz or specific AMP/EXPO profiles. Therefore, I consistently set it to 5600MHz without issues. I never overclocked or adjusted voltage in any way. I’m planning to reach out for advice before filing a warranty claim. The BIOS is the latest version.

System specifications:
- MBD: MSI B650 Tomahawk WiFi
- CPU: Ryzen 9 7900X3D
- GPU: RTX 4070
- RAM: 32GB Delta T-Force 6000mhz DDR5 @ 5600mhz
- AIO: Cooler Master 360mm
- PSU: 850W
- SSD: 1TB NVMe

PSU: 850W is the stated power output of the device. Which model are you using?
AIO: Cooler Master 360mm
Coolermaster offers several AIO options. Which one do you own? Consider easing the stress on your cooler's installation.
I haven't replaced the CPU thermal paste yet since I don't have any at all.
You might want to apply some thermal paste soon.
Your motherboard includes a BIOS Flash Button located on the back. Refer to the instructions in your manual:
https://download.msi.com/archive/mnu_exe...WKWIFI.pdf
page 55. Check if updating the BIOS can restore your system.

Thanks, I'm at work now but I missed the flash button—maybe it works. I'll follow up regarding the make and model details.

After additional testing, it has been determined that the issue was a defective RAM stick. Could a Windows update have caused this problem? Or does it seem like a coincidence? The RAM is only ten months old at the time of manufacture. I’m also confused about why CPU debug appeared even though it was just RAM. Regardless, my system is now functioning properly.
