I’ve installed Call of Duty 4 multiple times, and after configuring a new cfg file with the “paradox” settings – which previously gave me 250 frames per second – I added a quickscope keybind. Since then, my frame rate has consistently dropped to 60, even though I’m capable of reaching a maximum of 250 fps. My system includes an i5 8th generation processor, 7 gigabytes of RAM, and no dedicated graphics card. I’ve attempted numerous solutions, including creating a new cfg file and reinstalling it, as well as reducing all graphical settings. Despite these efforts, the problem persists. Can anyone assist me?

Potential difficulties leading to this:

1) An outdated driver might be the culprit. Nevertheless, considering you're utilizing integrated graphics and your brother is using a separate graphics card, driver issues seem improbable.
2) There could be an issue with a game add-on or modification. Attempt to play the game without any add-ons—for instance, remove the quickscope binding and use the standard settings. If this resolves the problem, then one or more add-ons (whether individually or together) are likely responsible.
3) Investigate COD4's official forums to ascertain if this issue arose following a recent update. Sometimes, new patches can introduce problems within games.

Perhaps it's due to a lack of graphics card?

It appears VSync might be active, alongside a monitor refresh rate of 60 Hertz.

Have you verified that VSync is disabled? Experiencing a fixed frame rate of 60FPS without any changes to your system suggests a VSync problem.

My display’s refresh rate is sixty Hertz, and synchronization isn't functioning correctly. Additionally, my brother’s laptop has a basic GTX 990 graphics card, and he experienced the identical issue I did – initially reaching a frame rate of 250, but now it's limited to sixty. I attempted to resolve this by using the Alt+Enter key to reduce the game’s window size, which temporarily increased my frame rate back to 250. However, the reduced screen resolution made gameplay difficult, and reverting to fullscreen caused my frame rate to return to sixty.

Potential difficulties that might be occurring:

1) An update for the graphics driver could be triggering an issue. Considering you are utilizing built-in visuals and your brother is using a separate graphics card, driver problems seem unlikely.
2) Issues relating to an add-on or modification within the game might be present. Attempt running the game without any modifications (such as removing a specific keybind), utilizing the standard settings. If this resolves the problem, then one or more add-ons – either individually or together – are responsible.
3) Examine the forums associated with COD4’s website to determine if this issue arose following a recent update. Occasionally, new updates can generate problems within games.

Initially, after installing a new configuration file and not using any key bindings, I achieved approximately 125 frames per second. However, upon adding the bindings, my frame rate dropped to 60 and remained at that level even when playing in default settings or removing the bindings. Subsequently, by minimizing the game and utilizing a full-screen resolution, I experienced improved frame rates alongside good visual quality. Furthermore, my computer consistently reached 125 and 140 frames per second. Considering these results, which frame rate would you recommend?

Is the rapid zoom function effective? If so, could you provide the key combination for it?

Could you please explain how to disable anti-aliasing and advise on suitable texture settings? Also, what is anisotropic anti-aliasing, and should it be turned on or off? (Sorry for poor English.)
