I've tested my Dualshock3 with both an old Windows 7 setup and a fresh Linux Mint system over the years. Recently, it started moving my mouse using the analog stick, just like the keyboard nipple on a thinkpad. A friend thought it was a recent Steam update, but I can't locate a way to disable it. It's really frustrating because as long as the controller is connected, the mouse keeps pinging randomly across the screen. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Press steam, navigate to settings, then click the controller at the bottom. Choose general controller settings and turn off PS4, generic, and Xbox options.

It's not Steam. Are you referring to something similar like an input mapper? Please confirm if you want to leave Steam or exit it entirely.

It seems the system might be identifying it as a pointer. I’ll look for more targeted help on Linux issues. The Dualshock3 is being recognized by xinput as a pointing device, possibly for the first time.
