The context menu is experiencing delays in loading.
Hi everyone, I've been facing this problem for a while and don't understand the cause. When I right-click any file on my desktop, it doesn't load instantly as it usually does—it slows down for a few seconds, which is really frustrating, especially when I need to work. Everything seems up to date and Windows is functioning properly. I checked some forums and found advice about deleting regedit folders, but that didn't help either. The sfc /scannow command reported no errors. My system specs are: CPU R7 2700x (not overclocked), 2x8GB DDR4 RAM, G.Skill RipJaws V DDR4 3200MHz, EVGA SC ULTRA RTX 2060, PSU Corsair CX750M, storage setup including a 1TB Crucial MX500 and a 250GB Samsung 970 Evo.
Some menus on Windows allow software to embed items within them. Usually, the program connects with a specific menu file, a *.dll, so the menu refreshes each time it’s used. If this DLL is poorly written and runs slowly, it can delay menu display. Too many extra entries may also hinder loading because Windows must load each DLL and wait for responses. Check installed programs and remove unwanted ones. Be aware that certain apps might keep registering themselves even after you say no, causing unnecessary behavior. I recommend avoiding such tools if they harm usability. If you must use them, consider using system utilities like Microsoft’s Autoruns to identify and unregister problematic entries. You can download it from the official site and run it as admin to see changes.
I understand, you're using simple tools and want to keep things easy.
