Hi, I have a Dell Vostro 3405 laptop running Windows 11. It’s about half a year old, and recently I’ve noticed the device suddenly freezes completely when idle—like when I’m just browsing or writing. But gaming or streaming doesn’t trigger this issue. I’ve tried a fresh install and it still happens. Can you help me figure out what’s causing this problem? Thanks in advance.

You're still covered under warranty, reach out to Dell for assistance.

I completed the integrated Dell troubleshooter checks for improper startup issues. Memory and disk tests showed no issues, and the Windows memory test also passed without problems. The crystal disk scan came back normal. I’ll review the links you mentioned later.

Dell is known for including many unnecessary features, yet this freezing behavior might stem from two antivirus programs running together. Running NVMe or SSD drives could also contribute.

I confirmed a complete reset, ensuring only one antivirus is active at once.

Yes and after reinstalling it, the issue persists. Have you ensured all drivers are installed so there are no warnings about any devices or unrecognized ones in Device Manager?

As discussed earlier, reach out to Dell support because it remains under warranty, regardless of whether you reinstalled Windows or not. You may need to install certain Dell tools and provide them with data for troubleshooting.

Dell mentioned the warranty won’t assist with issues unless you have the specific fabric OS like Ubuntu Linux. Since you’re using Windows 11, they won’t be able to help you.
