The thumbnail appears quite unusual, but this game has been enjoyable for a while now. It performs well and displays nicely at 1440p using the Ultimate setting. I discovered a YouTube video comparing the console and PC versions. On the console, Lara looks significantly more polished than on PC. The skin lighting seems much more natural compared to the PC version, which often looks artificial. The shadows under her hair appear dramatically improved, especially when shadows are set to ultra on the PC. Even with manual shadow settings at the highest level, the hair shadows look poor. The tessellated hair effect is far superior to the tress filter and other hair options available on PC. It seems the console version offers a much more realistic look, or perhaps it's just a marketing move by the developers. I’m curious if the upcoming Tomb Raider release will match this quality, especially with more computing power than a PS4.

They seem pre-rendered.

I don't understand. I'm not a regular player, so I haven't tried it on PS4 lol

Basically just a flashy trick. Of course, no one can really hit 4k or 1444p on next-gen systems—they just don’t. Most new titles end up at weird resolutions like 900P or 1000P, or sometimes the official version looks nicer because developers tweaked things for quality. Mods could probably do the same with different effects, lighting, and other tweaks.

This feels quite similar to a typical trailer scene. A genuine side-by-side look is available.

The new tomb raider is still in development and not fully ready. Console versions look better than the actual game, but we can't make a fair comparison yet.

Yes, there have been instances where a console game appeared superior on its platform compared to PC.

Is this the definitive version? Which one was originally available only on consoles? They really did a great job updating the visuals and overall design, making it look better than the regular PC release in certain areas. The character model for Lara in this edition is entirely fresh, and TRESS FX has also been enhanced.

I thought it might just be a movie scene. Yet they seemed like moments from the game I played. Uncertain. If the PS4 release had been that impressive, I’d have been amazed.

In fact, there were times when the PC versions weren't up to par, but that was before the era of high-end gaming rigs (or even strong home computers). Back then, arcades were the most capable systems. Otherwise, it hasn't happened recently.
