I assembled a fresh computer using some older parts, including my boot drive which starts Windows. I’m having trouble getting online, unsure why it’s not working. I swapped in another drive and it connected perfectly to the internet—still no clear solution. I’m hardwired and also have Wi-Fi enabled.
It's possible the driver isn't set up. You should verify your devices in the system and see if any are unrecognized. If correct, you'll need a different computer and USB stick. Use the new computer to look up the manufacturer (like Asus), visit their website, find your model, search for Ethernet drivers, add the USB, transfer it to your problematic machine, and install the driver once online. Remaining unknown devices usually install automatically via Windows updates or on the manufacturer's site.
