I removed the GPU and reinstalled it, but when I tried to restart my PC, it wouldn’t boot. All components—fans, RGB lights, and the GPU—were functioning properly. I checked the connections and everything seemed correct. After clearing the CMOS, the issue resolved. The problem repeated when I powered it back on the next day, but fixing the CMOS fixed it. I’m unsure if I need to clear the CMOS regularly or if there’s another issue with my system.

Did you make any adjustments in BIOS after resetting the CMOS? You might be required to boot BIOS without changes if this persists. If you didn’t alter anything and the reset resolves it, I’m unsure how to proceed and someone else may need to assist you. This hasn’t happened before.

Your motherboard may require a battery replacement if it's quite old. Be careful when handling the batteries—touch both the positive and negative terminals simultaneously, which is simple to do. Also verify that your GPU is securely placed in the PCI slot. In the BIOS, ensure the correct PCI slot is selected for graphics at startup, avoiding any confusion with onboard or integrated graphics.

I previously had XMP enabled, I'm going to attempt to disable it and observe the outcome.

I assembled the system last month, so I assumed the battery would function. The GPU is linked correctly since I’m receiving a picture during the CMOS reset.

The problem isn't capturing an image or signal. The real issue is you only get the picture after resetting the BIOS. Keep it in the BIOS before letting the PC boot, verify the correct graphics path is selected, save and exit. It looks like you rewrote the BIOS and can boot, but after use and shutdown you have to reset again. Every time you change the BIOS it resets back to its original state. The default settings are also in question. Also, you didn't mention building it recently or why you removed and reinserted the GPU. It’s like a classic guessing game—need more details to solve it.

I took out the GPU because the fans were making a loud noise that sounded like they were hitting something because of sag. I checked to see if there was anything else I could do.

Check if the fans are still operating normally or if the problem persists. If they continue making noise or grinding, an RMA might be necessary. Also, verify if your motherboard supports onboard video; if so, connect an HDMI cable and test booting without resetting it.

The CPU isn't equipped with built-in video, and the GPU isn't producing any sound.

Noise is resolved but the motherboard lacks an HDMI port? Check if it functions without resetting the BIOS.
