I just installed a new build with these details: i5 12600k, b660m mortar, WiFi, DDR4, Corsair verngeance RGB, 3600 RX6900xt, red devil 750W, BIOS version 7D42v1A. I configured the settings carefully—boot options, Fastboot, Secureboot, Trusted Computing, Power Management, USB power, and more. Everything functioned smoothly until I powered off the machine. The next time I tried to turn it on, the RAM and GPU LEDs stayed lit. An error debug LED toggled between RAM and GPU status until it stopped, preventing the PC from booting. Now I’m stuck removing three RAM sticks to fix a BIOS error, then reinserting them and applying XMP settings. It’s quite complicated because I have to reset everything every time I start up. I’m unsure if the issue lies with the RAM XMP profile or if my BIOS was set incorrectly.
Only memory exercises and similar techniques are performed during a cold boot to boost startup performance, resulting in quicker launches. You might have observed this when your PC takes longer to power up after a period before restarting versus instant-on behavior right after shutting it down.
