When I power on my PC, it usually takes around 60 seconds, which is too long. On the Asus stoplight indicator on the motherboard, I see it showing a DRAM issue. The orange light is lit, meaning it’s checking the DRAM and taking a long time. Please Help. Greetings, DoggyD – English isn’t my first language, and I don’t want to offend anyone.

DDR5 on AM5 requires some time to start up. 60 seconds isn't overly long. Upgrading the BIOS can improve boot speed, though that's often not possible. After installing the latest BIOS on my ASUS TUF B650, it booted in about 20 seconds. Generally, AM5 DDR5 systems might need up to 6 minutes to initialize.

Bios has been refreshed since it was just updated two days ago. I’m hoping they resolve the issue.

Question it. There are countless discussions on Reddit and tech forums regarding slow boot times for DDR5 on AM5 systems. It’s just the way things are, unfortunately. To make matters worse, I seldom power down my PC—my last shutdown was in September. You can search online for tips on speeding up DDR5 boot times on AM5 to see if any solutions emerge.

Isn't a slow startup on the newest BIOS versions an indication of memory training problems because of inconsistent RAM clocks or timing? This seems odd when using non-XMP speeds, unless the hardware is faulty.

The 60-second timeframe is quite extended. Your BIOS update seems to have simplified the process, allowing a quicker startup. Previously, a full boot took around 1.5 rotations of the animation, but now it takes longer due to bloat. With a Gen3 drive, the boot time has noticeably increased.

They don’t play much gaming. Just a 10th gen i5 and 8 gigabytes of DDR4 RAM.
