I'm working on a gaming PC setup with an i7 2600 and GTX1650. The build is finished, but my machine keeps restarting on its own. I've tried changing the power supply and reinstalling Windows, but it still happens even after manually shutting it down. The event logs are available, but they don't show anything relevant. Please help me figure this out.
The PSU was initially my top choice but we can eliminate that now. 1. Build a test rig. Disassemble the unit and reassemble it on your carpet. It’s odd how many components drop from the back of the tray and trigger intermittent shorts. 2. Swap in the 1650 Super and use the 2600s iGPU. I believe it still has one in storage. 3. If you’re using more than one RAM stick, start with a single stick. 4. How often does this occur? Is it consistent or random. 5. Does it occur during boot into BIOS or only after logging into Windows? 6. If it happens often, run HWInfo in the background and turn on logging. After an unexpected reboot, check the logs for any red flags like overheating, voltage spikes, or clock drops.
