Using i9 9900KF on an H310 board could damage the VRM. You might risk destroying the chip if things go wrong. The PSU should also be safe.

I placed an order for a Coolermaster A 550W PSU and a new motherboard. It should work for both setups.

I don't agree either; it provided the right voltages when I tested it with a multimeter, and the current levels matched as well with the shunt resistor.
