Approximately two days ago I upgraded my computer from a 2070Super with a Ryzen 5 3600X to a 4070 with a Ryzen 7 5800X3D. Everything functioned properly until some friends invited me to play Fortnite. After just four minutes, the screen went dark while the PC lights remained on. About five seconds later I returned to Windows in a log window. After logging in, everything appeared normal. I attempted various fixes: changed the display settings from DX12 to DX11, switched to performance mode, set graphics to low, and even increased CPU load. GPU stress tests like Cyberpunk 2077 with ultra ray tracing and Starfield on ultra settings worked fine. I suspected a power supply issue since my old 2070S used a dual 8-pin connector while the new model uses only one. I replaced it with an 8-pin cable from PSU to GPU, but still experienced problems. I considered using just a single 8-pin cable and wondered if that might help. No one suggested anything else.

Did you clear the CMOS after exchanging CPUs? The BIOS might retain previous memory configurations, and the DRAM may not have fully adjusted, leading to instability in certain situations.

Thanks for the update. It made me realize I hadn't refreshed my profile. Just updated it and ran three games smoothly—no crashes at all. I'm hoping the issue is resolved. Appreciate the help!
