I assisted in clearing out a garage today and discovered some computers. One had superior components compared to my current tower, so I opted to upgrade. I performed a case swap, but the CPU power connector isn't connecting properly to the CPU power header; an extension will need a few days for delivery. I attempted to run the PC using the old PSU from my previous build to only power the CPU, but when I try to start it, the fans spin briefly before the system shuts down. Both PSUs function correctly and can power components without issues, so the problem might lie in mixing them. I have a cable extension ready to order to test this hypothesis, and I'm planning to check if the RAM mixing earlier caused the issue. Adding another 2x4GB of RAM from my current build could provide extra capacity. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Highly likely you identified the problem on your own; ensure the 24 Pin and 4/8 Pin CPU are powered from the same PSU.
