I remembered that my gpu lights up when there is no power to it so I decided to check it and Im not sure what it ruled out since the only things connected to the mobo is the cpu header and 24 pin, and my gpu is in the first pcie slot

If the pin shorting method failed, the PSU might be the issue, though the motherboard could still be affected. Do you have a battery connected to the motherboard? You might want to remove it, press the power button, and wait 15–30 minutes before trying again.
