The computer powers down unexpectedly and fails to start when the GPU is connected.
Hi, I'll keep this short.
I was using my computer normally, watching YouTube, with a few tabs open, etc. It shut down unexpectedly and wouldn't restart. I checked for heat issues and everything seemed fine. I tested by powering on the CPU first, then RAM, drives, etc. The PC would turn on but the GPU wouldn't activate at all.
I know the CPU doesn’t have built-in graphics, so when I turned it on without a GPU, it stayed on for about ten seconds before shutting down or restarting.
The two graphics cards I found in boxes worked too—one old with no fan and just a heat sink, the other newer with fans and connected to the PSU. Both turned on, but the video output didn’t appear.
Any idea what might be causing this?
