I installed the new processor and waited until everything functioned properly before installing the case plates. Once confirmed, I reattached the front and back plates. When the rear plate secured, my PC behaved as if the power cord was disconnected and the Corsair Vengeance RGB RAM displayed rapid flashes. The system failed to power on at all. If I slightly or fully opened the back plate, it started working normally. Possible issue: a short circuit somewhere?

A wire being squeezed or pushed might lead to a bad link or short, or the rear plate could be touching the back of the motherboard in some way.
