PC is a modified x99 Asus board with an HX750i Corsair power supply. It has been running for some time now, but today an issue occurred. The system lights up briefly when you press the start button after connecting power, yet it fails to turn on completely. Power is being received as the graphics card lights up and the red and green reset indicators are active. I've tested various sockets and power cables, even tried using the motherboard power button. Someone suggested pressing the CMOS switch to reset the BIOS, but I'm not sure where that is. I'm seeking guidance on what to try next.

Have you attempted to jump the motherboard? It could help. https://youtu.be/FuPZlliGqBw

I didn’t think the buttons on the motherboard were the same as skipping the case protection. If that’s not the case, I’ll give it a shot this evening.

Nothing has worked so far. Have you considered replacing the power unit? I don’t own one, but I think I could obtain it.

This problem might stem from various causes, so testing each part individually is recommended. You’ll find it useful to have someone with matching replacement components. Based on my observations, the issue could be a faulty processor or bad RAM. The PSU is also possible, but you can check the LEDs—power should be present and the system might crash under heavy load if there’s a power issue. Initially, unplug your RAM and reinsert it. See if the PC starts working. If it does, the RAM is likely loose. Try one at a time; if it still doesn’t function, move to the other. If neither works, inspect the CPU cooler and physically examine the chip for visible damage like bent pins. This is rare if the CPU hasn’t been replaced or serviced. For either component, having comparable parts from friends or family would be extremely helpful for testing.
