I built my PC following YouTube guides, powered it up, and everything functioned properly. Still, there was no display. I checked RAM, GPU, and PSU on another machine—they all worked fine. Tried various display connections and ports, but the screen remained black. After removing the cooler, the CPU stuck in place. I cleaned a small amount of thermal paste near the edges and reapplied it, but the issue persisted. My setup includes a Ryzen 5 3600, an Asus TUF Pro gaming ATX board, a GTX 1060 with 6GB OC from MSI, Corsair 3200MHz RGB RAM, an 850W PSU from a prebuilt Intel PC. It was really disappointing when it didn’t work at first, and I’m worried the CPU or motherboard might be damaged.

The motherboard is B450. The seller has not updated the BIOS yet.

The seller claimed compatibility with 3rd generation, but the user guide lists 2nd and 1st generation support. This discrepancy might affect your decision.

Yes, it might work if it backs up the third-gen capabilities, though it wouldn't come pre-built. Updating the bios from a second or first-gen version would be necessary.

Yes, you can transfer the file from a website to a USB drive on an Intel PC.

It might require a BIOS upgrade for the B450 to work with Ryzen 3000 chips. Usually, new stock includes updated BIOS versions. If everything is properly connected, this could be the solution.

There’s nothing else available for the 3rd generation bios. If that’s the case, I’m in trouble.

You might need to rent a half-power Ryzen chip and refresh the BIOS files saved from ASUS.

I face the same issue where my PC and GPU ports aren't functioning for the display. The keyboard and mouse aren't responding either. My old system has an NVIDIA 630 and I'm not sure about the motherboard, but it worked before I changed the audio driver by unplugging and plugging it back in.
