My computer isn't powering on, and I'm unsure why. I discovered I had connected my GPU with a pigtail using the y-pcie cable, which is less safe than using separate cables. After changing it, the device still won't start. I made sure to shut down the PC and the power supply, even unplugging the PSU before working on it.

Revert the adjustments and attempt once more. Verify if the power supply includes its own dedicated switch—ensure it is activated.

Ensure your PSU to GPU connections display “VGA.” Based on the cable keying, you may have mistakenly linked a CPU cable instead of a GPU cable. GPU cables feature a 6+2 split design while CPU cables have a 4+4 split design.

I attempted that, but it didn't work. Verified the PSU switch was active.

No cables inside the box mention VGA. A few have 6+2 PCIe ports while others feature CPU 8-pin connectors...

the 8-pin connector can likely be divided into two 4-pin ones; the 6+2 configuration is the proper setup. verify all connectors on the power supply side are properly linked. then the GPU uses an 8-pin CPU and a 24-pin one—check the key they employ. ensure your power button is secured, it should be keyed, with pw_sw and typically the top left two pins on that cluster. at the bottom right of your board, if needed, you can quickly test by shorting those two pins with a screwdriver to see if it powers up.

Are the cables labeled PCIe? Are there any indicators of power being supplied to the motherboard or signs that the system is receiving energy? Did you connect the provided power supply cables? Using cables from other manufacturers may cause incompatibility. Confirm they are Corsair cables.
