Received laptop from dorm to my current accommodation. It seems something moved during transit—after powering it off or putting it to sleep for a short time, the machine would briefly stay on before restarting. It operated normally during daytime use, so I didn’t fix it right away. Recently, after opening the case, I noticed no loose connections or damaged components, but when trying to boot it, the PC wouldn’t start and the fans ran at full speed until I unplugged it. The system is running Windows 10 64-bit with AMD Ryzen 7 3700X, GIGABYTE X570 graphics, 8GB DDR4 RAM, and a 600W APEVIA 80 PLUS power supply.
Begin by disconnecting the PSU from the PC. Then proceed with the GPU. Gently remove and reinsert it, listening for a distinct click when it secures into the slot. Apply steady pressure until you notice the GPU sliding smoothly. This issue often occurs when moving a PC, as vibrations from the road or bumps can shift components. Cables and connectors typically have clips that stay in place unless strong force is applied. It’s safe to verify each cable fits tightly before powering it back on. After reconnecting the PSU, restart the system.
