The computer is behaving strangely... possible PSU issues?
the pc suddenly starts crashing or rebooting unexpectedly while playing a game, during gameplay or when idle, sometimes it works perfectly. the problem began about a week ago, which is unusual. i've checked the cpu temperatures and everything seems normal. i replaced the bios battery, ran memtest and the memory test, windows 10 memory checker also confirmed everything is fine. i swapped the gpus and still faced random shutdowns, or it seems to run okay but voltage readings are off. the 12v line shows 14.780–14.846v with a +5v rail at 4.987v. the system specs match corsair hx 1200. any suggestions would be appreciated.
Tried the RAM before, using an individual stick made the PC boot normally. The RAM was running at 2400 instead of the expected 2933 due to a recent BIOS reset. This happened again this morning. I woke up, turned the screen on (usually I leave it on at night), and it occurred once more. It started Chrome to open Gmail and Facebook, then shut down again. I’m wondering if the PSU might be failing. Could a corrupted Windows install be causing this? It’s been a while since the installation.
