The computer is acting slow sometimes because of a temporary glitch in its system.
I have a 5900x, a 3080, and 32GB of RAM running Windows 11. My computer was only a few months old back when I bought it, and this issue started then. At random times, everything suddenly slows down and the sound gets tinny and stretched out, like a video slowed to half speed. This happens for just a couple of seconds before things go back to normal. Heat isn't really a problem because both the CPU and GPU get pretty hot (around 60C) under load.
Here are the details for your build:
CPU: Motherboard: Ram: SSD/HDD: GPU: PSU: Chassis: OS: Monitor: BIOS version: Age of the power supply (make and model): Considered how long it has been in use. Task Manager: Check if any program is using too much memory or CPU time on Windows. Is this slowing down happening when you play games?
Here is your PC setup:
CPU: 5900x
Motherboard: x570s from Aorus Pro AX
RAM: 32GB
Storage: Windows lives on a 1TB NVMe SSD
GPU: 3080
Power Supply: CORSAIR 850W RMX
Case: CORSAIR 5000D
Operating System: Windows 11 Home
The BIOS says version 3.3, but the power supply was brand new when I bought it just a few months ago so it's only been used for a short while. I don't really check Task Manager often because it takes up to two seconds and everything looks fine until then. Maybe something is happening whenever I use a browser or Discord too? It seems most noticeable if I start gaming.
Hey Ian, sometimes things aren't as messy as we think. Try these easy fixes and see if they fix your issue. Here is how to help: turn off transparency effects in Windows 11 settings, make sure startup programs are stopped, close apps that run in the background, clear old files, use Storage Sense to clean up junk, and delete full disks so space is free. If this helps, let me know!
I keep checking Task Manager whenever my computer freezes or slows down a lot. Sometimes, the system interrupt takes up all the CPU power.
