I played a video game yesterday in the evening and suddenly my PC froze completely: no sound, no input from keyboard or mouse, and the same image remained on the screen. When I turned it off, I held the power button, then tried to turn it back on normally. It became stuck in the Windows 11 spinning circle, with the motherboard logo inside, and the keyboard didn’t respond (the caps lock light wouldn’t toggle).

Later, after accessing BIOS by pressing DEL during startup (so the keyboard worked), I restored the default settings. When I tried to turn it back on again, it still wouldn’t work. I rebooted several times, but Windows attempted an automatic recovery. After loading, it displayed a black screen except for the keyboard working (caps lock still functional), with nothing else visible.

I also booted from a USB drive using the Windows 11 installation tool. The process showed the spinning circle and then a black screen again, though the keyboard functioned correctly. My motherboard is an Asus PRIME H670-PLUS D4 with diagnostic Q-LED lights, which are working properly and showing correct BIOS information.

I’ve tested using only one RAM stick at a time, re-seating the GPU, checking power connections, swapping the NVMe drive, changing the video port on the graphics card, and even ran a storage check on the boot NVM. All tests passed.

My PC has two monitors—HDMI and DP—and the video output behaves identically on both. However, with the DP monitor, I occasionally hear white noise when powering it up (only one at a time).

I noticed my hardware appears to be in good condition: BIOS shows everything correctly, and diagnostics confirm the motherboard is functional. Despite this, it has been running perfectly for over three years. Now it’s completely unresponsive.

What should I do next? Please help—I’ve had no issues for more than three years, and now it just stops working.

I experienced a problem where my PC froze on the loading screen three days ago (it resolved after just five minutes). It behaved in a way that reminded me of your issue. I waited three days before taking action, although I replaced the fan, which likely didn’t fix it. Some users recommended solutions in my post for similar symptoms—check it out if you think they might help.
