Four weeks ago, I assembled my desktop and it functioned perfectly until recently. Following a Windows update on March 27th, several of my games began to fail when launched. This issue has now impacted three titles. I’ve attempted troubleshooting by reinstalling my graphics card software, resetting the BIOS settings, running sfc/scannow, and performing a full antivirus scan.

spec:
cpu: Intel® Core™ i5-9600K
gpu: Nvidia RTX 2060
ram: 2x8gb corsair vengeance 3000mhz
motherboard: gigabyte z390 ud
psu: evga 600 be 80+bronze 600W
SSD: ADATA SU800 128gb
HDDConfusedeagate barracuda 1tb
cpu cooler: cooler master hyper 212
monitor: benq zowie xl2411p

Attempt to reinstall the motherboard drivers, focusing on the Ethernet and sound components. Windows can be overly confident in its own software and may give preference to those drivers, so manually reinstalling them will take precedence.

Verify the firmware for your solid-state drive and hard disk drive, and if necessary, consider reverting to previous versions of the updates.

I completely reinstalled most of the components listed on the motherboard page, and upon starting the game, it reported a hardware malfunction—identical to its previous behavior. Subsequently, I removed the update that was installed on the 27th, but it continues to crash when launched. This game is Warframe.

System malfunction...
Are any performance boosts being applied? [Excluding default GPU manufacturer overclocking, if present.]
Assess hard drive condition:
https://crystalmark.info/redirect.php?pr...oInstaller
Experiment with individual memory modules.
Utilize either MSI Afterburner or EVGA Precision X to reduce the graphics card power restriction completely, then retest within games.

My hard drive diagnostic indicated "healthy" status. I suspect I haven’t manually adjusted my processor or graphics card speeds, although my CPU's standard operating frequency is 3.7 GHz and I am currently running at 4.2 GHz – a discrepancy that puzzles me. Furthermore, attempting to reduce the GPU power limit using MSI Afterburner proved unsuccessful. I tested my system with several problematic games, and unexpectedly, Rainbow Six Siege functioned without issues, representing one out of three successful tests.

I attempted to execute sfc/scannow once more, and it halted at 66%. It displayed the message: “Windows Resource Protection discovered damaged files, yet it failed to rectify certain ones.” Information regarding online solutions can be accessed within the CBS log file, situated at windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log; for instance, C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Offline repair specifics are found in the log file specified by the /OFFLOGFILE parameter.

Intel Speed Boost is the reason – it operates automatically, incidentally:

Have you completed all the procedures outlined in this guide?

Yes, I completed everything, and the system file checker scan didn't find any issues.
