i regularly power on my pc until the login screen appears. When entering the password—sometimes even before typing—it simply powers off completely, like a straight shutdown, without a blue screen. Previously, the machine would shut down randomly, especially when opening apps like WhatsApp or Chrome. I checked the temperatures, which were around 97°C during startup. After reapplying thermal paste, things stabilized at about 50°C. For a week it worked fine until the login screen showed up without any password. After numerous troubleshooting steps—including a corrupt BIOS error and booting from backup—I reinstalled Windows 10, which installed smoothly. Once updated with apps like Chrome, Firefox, VLC, and Office 2021, and after updating to the latest version, the login issue began. I tried Windows Repair and even attempted a Manjaro installation, but it also stopped at the login screen. PS: I have screenshots of the random shutdowns and BIOS errors. My system specs include an i5-2400 GA-H61M-S2P-R3 processor, 8GB RAM (1333MHz), Zebion 450W ECO-2 WD Green SSD (256GB), and a 500GB HDD (unplugged).
The PSU features an 18A 12V rail, while comparable high-quality units typically offer around twice that capacity.
