specs: processor i7-13700k, motherboard msi mag z790 tomahawk, wifi, ddr4 ram, corsair vengeance rgb 32gb (2x16), ddr4 3200 cl16, gpu nvidia rtx 3060, storage samsung 970 evo plus 2tb wd blue 1tb, hdd psu corsair rm1000e. built this pc on the 28th of July. last night i put it to sleep but it didn’t really shut down. fans kept spinning and argb stayed on, no screen. waited a while and still fans ran. decided to turn off the psu switch then go to sleep. next day i powered it back on but it wasn’t working. my mobo had a red light showing cpu not detected. i searched online for help. tried bios update carefully, followed all steps, but the bios flashback didn’t work and just showed solid red. checked connections, no issues found. solutions completed – verified cpu pins, tested psu, used another one. please help, i invested all my money on this pc.

I understand your concern. Let me explain further. After reinstalling the PSU, the issue persists. Could you provide more details about what happens when it fails again?

I checked the setup with another CPU and it worked. It looks like the CPU itself might be the issue. What happened to it?

It was functioning a few days back, so should I still process an RMA?

RMA means sending it back to the manufacturer. If it's faulty, then yes... if another CPU fits on the same board I'd say it's defective. For reliability, most components fail within the first year due to manufacturing issues or they last indefinitely. Based on my experience, since it's new and covered under warranty, I recommend RMA and return it for a replacement or refund. Unless your actions voided the warranty, go ahead.

Sure, I'll do my best to fix it. I don't recall any actions that would cancel the warranty, I didn't overclock and I had proper cooling, so it didn't overheat. Appreciate the assistance, Robchill.
