I just transferred my PC from the dorm to my home and it functioned well until I powered it off once. Now the LEDs display the correct colors at startup, but the GPU fans are spinning while it fails to boot. The motherboard’s DRAM LED lights up occasionally and switches to the CPU LED. I’ve reinstalled the CPU, used just one RAM stick, cleared CMOS, and all power connections are secure. The system has operated smoothly for about three years, so the problem isn’t due to age. Specs: Gigabyte B450 M motherboard, Ryzen 2600 CPU, XFX RX570 GPU, 4x8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200 RAM.
Did you verify the PSU cables on the power supply side? Have you attempted a different display cable? Is the display turned on?
Have you experimented with another DisplayPort or HDMI connection on your graphics card?
The system is running and there are two monitors—one via HDMI and the other through a display port. The second monitor isn’t showing anything, though it booted after the move, so likely the cable isn’t the issue. I’m checking for another HDMI connection and will retry the PSU cables.
Consider trying to reposition the GPU or inspecting the area near the slot. A relocation might help, and this wasn’t among the items you mentioned reviewing.
Honestly, I’d suggest rebuilding the whole thing from scratch if you can’t find many replaceable parts to test. If that fails, get a new mobile from Amazon and see if it works. Only then return the old one and keep trying until you resolve the issue. Just remember to genuinely believe the part is faulty before acting.
Thanks for the assistance with the ideas. In the worst case, I was thinking about an upgrade soon too.
