The computer fails to start, even when accessing the BIOS, despite having RAM configured for XMP.
Hi,
I increased my CPU's overclocking and set the RAM to XMP profile 1 about a year ago without any issues. One month ago I added two sticks of 4GB RAM and suddenly the computer stopped booting, showing only a black screen. I couldn’t access BIOS. After removing those new sticks, I received a warning about BIOS incompatibility. I removed the XMP profile and kept the CPU overclocked. Now it works, but I’m curious—was there a problem with the faulty RAM? I plan to run MemTest tonight. My motherboard is a Gigabyte Z97X gaming 5. I use this RAM (16GB).
Also, could you confirm if running the CPU overclocked while keeping RAM unchanged caused any issues? Thank you.
completed ran memtest 86 for more than nine hours with no issues
Adjust the RAM configuration in BIOS to 1600Mhz and inform us of the outcome.
