Hello everyone, just updated my system with an upgrade and bought a Corsair H115i RGB Pro XT as an addition to my existing CPU coolers. I also got a new SSD which isn’t connected yet. I made the change carefully. Initially, it wouldn’t boot, but after swapping the CPU and cooler, it started up successfully. However, it doesn’t show any image. I’ve tried moving the GPUs around, both are functioning properly now. What might be causing this issue? I’m a bit worried. Please help!

Specs: Case – Coolermaster TD500 RGB; Mobo – MSI B450 Tomahawk Max II; CPU – Ryzen 5 3600; Cooler – Corsair H115i RGB Pro XT; GPU – AMD Sapphire Nitro+ 6700 XT (also tested with a Nvidia ROG Strix 1660 Super); Memory – 1TB HDD, 1TB SSD, 1x NVMe M.2 512GB on Mobo, plus 1TB NVMe M.2 on PCIe slot; PSU – Be Quiet Pure Power 11 600W 80+ Gold; OS – Windows 10.

The PC worked perfectly before the cooler change. Problems now include: no display (no signal from monitors or cables), booting via power button but not shutting down, fans on the 6700 XT not spinning, no RGB lighting, and the 1660 Super performing flawlessly.

After flipping the CPU, did you possibly misplace it in the socket? Are there any error indicators on the motherboard?

I’d start by examining the error lights, confirming whether everything passes and then performing a visual inspection to verify all connections are secure. If that doesn’t resolve the problem, I’d attempt to pull the CMOS to see if there were any misconfigurations, such as incorrect CPU switching. In my view, updating the CMOS often resolves issues linked to CPU replacement or overclocking. The change you made might also be the root cause.

It didn't start at all, so I assumed the CPU was incorrect. After changing it, it worked and the remaining problems appeared. No warning lights were shown.

It looks like your CPU might be damaged. If it's placed incorrectly, the pins could have been bent. Have you checked the CPU to ensure all connections are correct?

Inspect the CPU for misaligned pins. You could potentially recover it if circumstances are favorable.

The CPU is properly positioned with a small triangle indicating correct placement. *Check for bent pins.* Also, verify alignment in the lower left corner—there’s one on the motherboard as well, they need to match.

Inspected the CPU for bent pins and found a few. Attempted to fix them without success, so I bought a Ryzen 5 5600X for 230 euros and plan to test it out in an hour. Hopefully that was the only issue. The price of the cooler change is quite steep...

The new CPU powers on and shuts down using the power button, but everything functions except for the 6700 XT (no fans and no RGB). The 1660 Super works with fans spinning and RGB enabled. However, no signal is detected overall. It might be a faulty motherboard issue—seems unlikely.
