My laptop failed to power on and the HDD indicator was flickering. I attempted to reset the CMOS but it didn’t help. All connections seemed intact. I disconnected everything and still couldn’t get a response. I switched to another RAM module, but the issue persisted. The CPU became hot after removing the cooler. Anyone have suggestions? Machine details: Asus B85M-E I7-4790k, Asus Rog Strix 1070 Ti 8Gb PSU (new), 500W, 1TB HDD, 500GB Kingston SSD.

Remove the GPU and connect your screen directly to the motherboard.

I attempted several solutions but nothing worked. Once I moved the GPU to another machine, it functioned properly. Later, I tried resetting the RAM connections, but no improvement occurred.

Consider another screen setup and a varied cable option.

I'll attempt to do that. However, the keyboard still doesn't illuminate as before.

I assumed the PC might be starting up, but there were problems with the GPU and display since the HDD activity light was flashing, suggesting it was booting but not showing properly. Now I worry there might be a faulty component like the motherboard or CPU.
