The computer fails to power up.
Hi everyone, I’m facing a serious issue. My PC won’t power on, and I think something might have damaged it. Last night I cleaned dust from the top case fans using wet and dry tissues, but I didn’t turn off the power source or power supply unit. I only cleaned part of a fan because it was late, then decided to clean more tomorrow. After switching off the multi-strip power strips, I tried to save electricity by unplugging them. The next morning everything started to work again—monitor lights flickered fast and the AIO lights turned on. When I turned it back on, nothing happened: no lights, no sound, no smell. No signs of overheating or burning. I’ve tried a different outlet but it didn’t help. I followed some power surge fixes, unplugged the PSU, held the power button for five seconds, then pressed it again and reconnected it. The AIO lights lit up once, but then everything shut down completely. I’ve attached a photo of the AIO lights below. I don’t have another PSU on hand and want advice before buying a new one. Thanks in advance.
Sorry, I don’t have the exact model numbers for most components. PSU: CoolerMaster V750 SFX Gold 750W Full Modular Motherboard: Gigabyte B550 Vision D-P GPU: Gigabyte 3070TI Gaming 8GB AIO: CoolerMaster Master Liquid ML240 Illusion White RAM: Corsair Vengeance RGB 2x16GB
The debug display isn't showing up, possibly meaning your board isn't receiving power. You might want to reinsert the power cables at both ends. Also, check if your air pump is connected to the main unit—it seems to be the only active component, so you could try disconnecting it and see if it powers on.
That part is a mobile phone module, not specifically an ASUS model.
It’s a gigabyte motherboard. I ran the paper clip test on my PSU, connected it to the case fans, and they all lit up. Does this confirm your PSU is functioning?
