The computer emits a single beep yet fails to load.
I have a PC that was working well, and I wanted to upgrade its CPU. I had a Pentium 20th Anniversary Edition, but I found an i7 4770 for $90 recently and bought it. After replacing the CPU, it wouldn’t boot, so I switched back. I tried a few times to troubleshoot, but now neither my old CPU nor the new one is working. I need this computer for school, so I’m unsure what to do next. Please offer some advice.
The issue is that my old cpu is no longer booting and I'm not sure why the fans all turn on the LEDs and I hear a single beep but no post
Focus on getting your old CPU running. Have you attempted any troubleshooting methods? Also check the meaning of the beep code in your motherboard manual—it could provide more insight into the problem.
It could be related to the BIOS settings. I faced a problem with the BIOS on my device, so I removed the CMOS battery and reinserted it. It helped and could be effective for others too.
