Hey, your PC seems to have a problem now. You recently got a new PC with a brand-new PSU and case, but the GPU is used and still working fine. Temperatures are normal, passed the stress test, CPU and RAM are okay. The issue started about a week after setup—while you were using the machine, it suddenly stuttered heavily (around 1 fps on the desktop) and shut down after a few seconds. After two failed boot attempts, you reinstalled everything. Later, you noticed the PCIe cable wasn’t fully secured (the clip was there but the pins were exposed). Fixing it helped for a couple days, then the problem returned. After briefly turning off the PSU for about five minutes, it worked again. Now it’s running but you’re worried it might happen again. Your components are mostly new: motherboard ROG Strix B550-F, Ryzen 7 5700X, GPU RTX 3080, 10GB NVMe SSD, 2x16 DDR4, 3600MHz RAM, RGB light module, PSU Pure Power 12M 850W, and a new LXNEX SSD. If anyone can assist, it would be great. Feel free to share more details or photos for better help.
It would have been simple to resolve... I believe you should verify your RAM using memtest86 or similar tools. Try running Crystal Disk Mark on your boot SSD and monitor temperatures with HWinfo64. Use a different power supply to ensure accuracy. Good luck!
These checks are showing significant issues. If the system hardware appears functional, the fault likely lies in the software. Clearing the boot drive and reinstalling Windows could resolve the problem.
Did everything from the list besides changing the psu, the ram passed 8 times, did a bios reset and updated drivers (amd chipset, nvidia drivers), now Im just waiting for the results because the freeze occurs after 1-2 days of playing, also I get a lot of warnings and errors in Windows event viewer mostly DistributedCOM id 10016 and mtkwlex id 1, rarely e2fexpress id 27 idk if it matters but I didnt activate the windows yet because I didnt bother for now cuz of the freezes
Did HWinfo64 report normal temps ? That one shouldn't cause issues Your wifi card is made by Mediatek and has trouble with drivers. Your Ethernet adapter misbehaves. Some users did report hard crashes from that one. Unfortunately, I cannot find a solution and if you check that link, it seems that Microsoft, Intel and Asus are playing ping-pong with that issue. https://community.intel.com/t5/Ethernet-...614/page/2 Good luck !
The freeze happened again shortly after, this time it resisted more and nearly thawed. I’m not sure what to do anymore—temperatures are okay except for the CPU, which hits around 60 during gaming. Also, this matches what happened right before the freeze. I’m considering turning off the Wi-Fi in BIOS for now (I don’t use it much), hoping it resolves the issue. If it works, I’ll be furious.
Clear. I'd agree, 60C should work for an SSD. Still, a problematic SSD might cause the system to stall. Testing a new SSD without swapping it for another would be tough. Crystal Disk Mark can show real performance, but it won't catch issues with temperature or long-term use. Have a great day.
