Here are some revised points about your situation:

Before diving into the details, let's recap your setup:
- Acer Predator G3-710 with BIOS version R02-A2
- Intel Core i7-7700 CPU running at 3.60GHz
- 32GB RAM, NVIDIA GTX 1070 GPU
- Windows 10 Home 64-bit version 22H2
- OS build: 19045.2846

Regarding the issue:
You recently replaced the NVMe SSD C drive with a 1TB model. After cloning, the system started normally but would freeze after about five minutes of use. It would lock up completely, preventing any key presses like Ctrl+Alt+Del. After a short pause, it would power back on but display nothing, and the optical mouse wouldn’t work.

You suspected a thermal problem because the PC would restart after waiting 30 minutes to an hour, only to freeze again. You checked the BIOS menu during startup and found "Advanced CPU health settings." There, you noticed the CPU temperature kept rising while the fans didn’t activate. Eventually, the CPU reached 91°C and you shut it down. The BIOS fan settings were set to "enabled."

Your questions:
- Could updating the BIOS resolve this?
- Is the CPU fan malfunctioning?

Any clarification would be appreciated. Thank you!

It might be a strange BIOS problem, a lost fan, or just the fan header. A quick test is to connect another fan to the CPU socket and check for any RPMs. If you see numbers, it’s likely a dead fan. If not, the issue is probably with the header or BIOS.

Hey there! Check those temperatures—are your CPU fans rotating properly? If not, it might mean the fan header got hit or needs replacing. The CPU could also be a candidate for repasting due to its age, and a clone might not be worth it unless you're sure. I’d suggest tackling the hardware first before considering software fixes.
