The computer abruptly froze and shut down during gameplay of Rocket League.
I’ve experienced this problem since acquiring the game approximately two months ago. Frequently and unpredictably, while playing Rocket League, my entire computer freezes, necessitating a manual restart via the power button on my case. I've discussed this with the Rocket League support team, but they haven’t been able to resolve it. I’ve attempted numerous troubleshooting steps, including: configuring both steam.exe and rocketleague.exe to run as administrator through compatibility settings, reinstalling Steam and Rocket League, checking the game file integrity, disabling all non-essential background processes except those provided by Windows, removing all extraneous startup applications aside from Steam and Discord, uninstalling and re-installing my graphics drivers, clearing cache files for Steam and Rocket League, and setting Rocket League to run in windowed mode. Sadly, none of these efforts have alleviated the crashing problem. My system specifications are as follows: CPU: Intel i7-6700k (not overclocked), GPU: Nvidia GTX 980, Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170XP-SLI-CF, RAM: 2x8GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4, and PSU: Corsair CX650M. I trust this information will be helpful for others seeking assistance. Thank you, Sammy
Am I familiar with this? Memory: 2 x 8GB at 1200MHz. Do you have the item’s code or a website address for it?

Am I supposed to be familiar with this? Memory: 2x8GB 1200MHz. Do you have a part number or URL for it? I apologize, I didn't realize the type or brand. I believe it’s 2x8GB of Corsair Vengeance DDR4, though I’m uncertain about the speed.
Ensure your DirectX and Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Packages are up to date, as outdated or damaged library files could be the cause. Furthermore, check whether you’re employing antivirus or firewall software; attempting to create an exception specifically for Rocket League might resolve the issue.
To resolve the issue, please attempt to refresh your DirectX and Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Packages, as missing or damaged libraries may be a factor. Additionally, could you confirm whether you're utilizing an antivirus or firewall software? Experimenting with an exception for Rocket League might also provide a solution.
Thank you for your response; could you please advise on the process of updating these packages?

Experiencing crashes or instability while launching Rocket League? Here’s a breakdown of common issues and how to troubleshoot them:
I’ve reinstalled all Visual C++ packages and attempted a reinstall of DirectX, however I was informed that my version was already current and appeared to have been verified for integrity. Despite numerous attempts at various solutions, the issue persists and remains unresolved.
A user, sammyrudkinchannel, reports PC crashes and freezes during Rocket League gameplay, which has recently expanded to other games, causing random solid-color screen displays followed by blackouts and system restarts.
The user investigated Event Viewer logs after these incidents, noting a certificate nearing expiration, a successful restore point creation, an unresolved Application Popup event (Event ID 56), and a COM Server permission issue related to the “Unavailable” application container. Attempts to resolve this included reinstalling Visual C++ packages and DirectX, running games as administrator, utilizing windowed mode, and employing CAM by NZXT to monitor CPU and GPU temperatures and load levels (average CPU: 35°C, average GPU: 55°C). The user also tested installing the games on an SSD.
PC Specifications:
CPU: Intel Core i7-6700k
GPU: GeForce GTX 980
MOBO: Gigabyte Z170XP-SLI-CF
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB DDR4

Despite these steps, the problem persists and is worsening. The user seeks assistance and suggestions to address this ongoing issue.
Question from sammyrudkinchannel : "I’m experiencing frequent crashes and freezing while playing games, specifically Rocket League, but it seems to affect almost all of my games now – they’ll randomly display a solid color screen, then go black and reboot. I've tried various troubleshooting steps like reinstalling Visual C++ packages, DirectX, running games as administrator, setting them to windowed mode, using CAM by NZXT to monitor temperatures (CPU avg 35°C, GPU avg 55°C), installing on my SSD, and updating/reinstalling graphics drivers. I’ve also checked Event Viewer logs which show certificate expiration warnings, a restore point creation, and an error related to COM Server permissions. My specs are: Intel Core i7-6700k, GeForce GTX 980, Gigabyte Z170XP-SLI-CF, Corsair Vengeance 2x8GB DDR4, Corsair CX650M. I’m at a loss and would appreciate any suggestions to resolve this issue."
