The issue you're facing relates to the .NET framework, not the component store. The update for Windows 10 version 1803 is being attempted but isn't proceeding as expected.

It's not an issue, just difficulty updating or managing features (distinct from software).

If any file becomes damaged, it's usually due to instability either in hardware or software.

You could install the update yourself by downloading it from Microsoft's site instead of relying on Windows Update. The update stopped working for me, and even after clicking Install multiple times it failed.

Due to network policy configurations, Windows failed to connect to the Internet for downloading necessary files. This issue may stem from overly restrictive group policies. Contact your network administrator for assistance. 0x800F0907 - CBS_E_GROUPPOLICY_DISALLOWED indicates the policy is too strict, though it doesn't lead to file corruption.

I can attempt to swap out the WinSxS directory where the component store is kept, using a backup from about a month ago. It’s possible the slight age difference isn’t significant and it should work.

I don’t have any group policies management. My network is entirely my own. Plus, the issue isn’t the same as before.

My system is fully functional, no restrictions here. I'm confident this isn't connected to Microsoft issues. It seems like they're just making things up again.
