The code MW continues to stutter despite efforts.
Hi- I had been enjoying MW smoothly at around 60-80 FPS while using GeForce 1660ti. After upgrading a few months ago to a 3070ti, my performance jumped significantly to about 100-150 FPS! About a month ago, suddenly I started noticing a strange stutter that I couldn't fix. It would happen every few seconds, causing a big drop in FPS and becoming really bothersome. I've tried lowering the settings, even at the lowest resolution and settings, but the problem persists. At first, I thought the latest MW update might have caused it, but it didn't seem to be the case. I've attempted various solutions:
- Clearing driver resets using DDU
- Scanning and repairing the game
- Uninstalling and reinstalling the game
- Optimizing through the control panel
- Resetting monitor settings
- Using msconfig to enable all cores
- Performing a clean PC reset
- Installing Windows on an SSD
- Installing the game on an SSD
- Changing the position of RAM sticks (a1b1-->a2b2)
- Updating BIOS
I'm really tired of this issue and think it might be related to my Windows installations. I had previously tried moving Windows 10 from a hard drive to an SSD, but now msconfig shows multiple drives with Windows 10 installed. Despite this, the game still ran well even when that happened. I just want to play and get it working again. Please help me with my specs.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, or at least more options to try. Thanks in advance!
Lads, I’ve fixed my issue. Sorry for that awkward moment. When I opened up my PC to reapply thermal paste, I found something strange. It turns out the fan or heat sink wasn’t properly secured above the CPU—it was moving around. When it was placed straight down, there was no contact between the heat sink and the CPU. This means my CPU has been struggling for the past two months without proper cooling. I removed the old paste, cleaned both components with rubbing alcohol, reapplied the paste, and my game ran much better. I’ll also...
Follow the instructions carefully until the end.
Disconnect from the internet.
Remove every GPU driver using DDU (clean without restarting, and make sure to tick all options in the Nvidia settings).
Uninstall all processors—this is essential. Ensure it’s set to 16 on your device since it requires 16 threads. When prompted for a restart, select no and continue uninstalling all processors.
On the Device Manager, uninstall AMD Chipset Software via the control panel (ignore if none exists).
Restart the PC into BIOS, turn off AMD FTPM and Secure Boot (if enabled by default), save changes and exit. Return to BIOS, re-flash the BIOS with AGESA 1.2.0.7, then restart after completion. After updating, choose default or optimized settings, enable the fastest XMP profile, save and exit.
Optional adjustments: disable CSM, turn on Above 4G Decoding, and enable the Resizable bar (these features won’t appear unless CSM is disabled). If GPU supports it, consider using XD.
If successful, boot into Windows, install the latest chipset driver, then restart.
Install the newest NVIDIA driver, reboot, and reconnect to the internet.
Perform these actions entirely offline until you reboot after installing the chipset driver, and you may also reboot to BIOS afterward to apply XMP settings (and any previous configurations).
Download the required files before proceeding to step 1, and follow each step in order.
Execute CMD as an administrator, then run chkdsk /x /f /r, followed by sfc /scannow.
Check for Windows updates and install any available ones (excluding optional updates).
Ensure the PSU connected to the GPU uses a 1 PCIe cable per slot—use the main cable, not the branch or split cables.
Hi, I had a branched PSU for the GPU power. I plan to fix this and if it doesn't work, I'll use your other detailed list.
Other games are fine, but it seems like they have dropped in quality a little as well.
I can't run userbenchmark or provide a public link to its results.
